After purchasing an older home, my first priority was to get my home office up and running. I need a space where I can spend many hours productively.If I could describe the craftsmanship undertaken in my home it would be: amateurish, incompetent, lazy, 43 years of destroy-it-yourself layered up. Picture this, the walls are pond-scum green full of lumps and holes topped off with a deteriorating popcorn ceiling. Walls are no challenge for me, ceilings on the other hand…So with due diligence, I reached out to a couple of drywall companies that I work with on a regular basis and also Spencer. Only one of the aforementioned contractors suggested I get the ceiling tested for asbestos. When I mentioned this to the inspector, he said, “that is a good contractor, you want to keep those guys”.Even though this single room job could have been viewed to many as, to small to be worth their time, I got it quoted room by room, as requested, so I could anticipate the whole house cost. I chose to move ahead and the contractor had an opening that worked well with our timeline and got started right away. Less than a week later when the work was completed my better half said, “holy cow I can’t believe how much difference that makes!”. The bar is set.There are a lot of people who work in the trades, but very few are real tradesmen. The Elite among these are the guys that came to my home, on-time, did exactly what they set out to each day, and left my house so clean it were as if they had never been there. Polite, professional, tidy and with great attention to detail, day by day I could see progress and truly Elite results.After 2 years of listening to glowing feedback regarding Spencer, I finally have my own first hand experience to share with others. We have used Spencer and team for many projects from window washing to heavy drywall repairs and window frame painting to regular wall painting. There's no fading at windows over a year, and all our other projects are beautifully painted. Any areas that are not up to our expectations were taken care of immediately. All work areas were kept clean during and completely cleaned up after.Next project : outside of cedar house !
