In May 2024, I was getting our house ready for sale. I hired Five Star Painting of Wilmington to paint two bedrooms and one bathroom, including the bathroom vanity. Three men were sent to do the job. Two men focused on the bedrooms and the third on the bathroom. After the first day, I noticed some problems with paint being applied too heavily and not rolled out so it was dripping or oozing down the wall. The worst problems were in the bathroom. Everywhere I looked there were paint drips and globs, fingerprints of paint on the mirror and the tub. There were also cigarette ashes in the toilet. The third man was clearly incompetent, and I did not want him back the second day. But I was assured that everything would be fixed. After the second day, when they had finished, everything looked OK, not five star worthy, but OK. But I could not see one side of the vanity doors because they were still wet. Later, when they were dry, I found fingerprints around the edges and missed areas not painted at all. I sent photos to the owner, who offered to have the same team return to fix things. Are you kidding? No way. For thirty years, my husband and I took pride in painting our home ourselves. Now I was under pressure to get our house sold, and my husband is disabled so I hired painting contractors. And this. I fixed the issues myself, and told the owner I will be sure not to use his company again. The only reason I wrote this poor review is that strangely my email is being blasted with requests for a review over a year after this all took place. Well, I’m pretty sure this is not the review you were looking for, but here it is.
We had our kitchen cabinets painted by Five Star Painting of Wilmington, DE and we couldn't be happier. We thought it would be a tedious, time-consuming job and that our kitchen would be in shambles for as much as a week but we were pleasantly surprised. The estimator was quick and gave us a very fair price the same day. The painters (2) were polite and courteous and did an outstanding job. They kept the kitchen clean while working and cleaned up everything after finishing the first day and did the same on the second day. They were overseen by a project manager who checked their work when completed (only took two days total at our house). The cabinet doors were done at their warehouse to avoid any interruption to our schedule. It has been over 6 months since the work was done and I have already wiped down the cabinets a few times due to grease splatters from our stove. The cabinets are beautiful. There is not one scratch after 6 months of use and they were so easy to wipe down. The paint job is superb. A great upgrade at a very reasonable price. I now have the kitchen I've wanted for many years. I highly recommend Five Star Painting of Wilmington and intend to hire them again when I'm ready to upgrade my half bath.

People who visited said they would never have been able to tell that the cabinets were painted. The crews were super clean and efficient, and very nice. Kathy is just the sweetest and they really want to be sure you are happy with their service and results. Their pricing was also the best of the estimates I received, as well.
